Methodology & data sources

This page explains exactly how the comparisons on Prop Firm Hunters are built, so you can decide how much weight to give them.

Data sources

  • Official firm websites: challenge pages, terms and conditions, payout and rule documentation.
  • Trustpilot: public rating and review counts, refreshed regularly.
  • Manual verification: hand-checking of prices, profit splits, drawdown rules and payout terms before publishing changes.

Ranking criteria

The default ranking weights, in order:

  1. Reputation: Trustpilot rating and the number of reviews, so a 4.8 from 50 reviews does not outrank a 4.6 from 18,000 without context.
  2. Payout terms: profit split, payout frequency and minimum payout.
  3. Challenge quality: clarity and flexibility of the rules, drawdown type and account sizes.
  4. Value: what you get for the challenge fee.
  5. Coverage: assets and platforms supported for your style.

You can always re-sort and filter the tables to match your own priorities — the default order is a starting point, not a verdict.

Verification & updates

Every page shows the date the dataset was last verified. Corrections are published with the next build of the site. If a firm changes its terms and we have not caught it yet, let us know and we will prioritise it.

Editorial independence

Rankings, scores and reviews are editorial. Firms cannot pay to buy placement, ratings or removal, and we do not invent scores.

Limitations

  • Prop firm terms change frequently; always confirm the current rules on the firm's official website before buying a challenge.
  • Trustpilot ratings can be affected by review campaigns; we show review counts so you can judge reliability.
  • Nothing here is financial advice. Trading involves significant risk of loss.
